Elf Role-Play

Guidelines in Role-playing an Elf

· The most significant feature of elves is longevity and this influences every aspect of elven characteristics. Elves either decide on their own death, usually when they are wearied of the world, or die a brutal death brought upon by an enemy.

· Elves avoid befriending members of other races with shorter lifespan and this can make them seem distant at times.

· One of the elven best qualities is their undying patience this characteristic molds all aspects of their life.

· Elves are not easily provoked and would rather enjoy the luxury of their longer lifespan waiting for enemies to die of old age than having a confrontation. Violence is usually the last option.

· Elves are not destructive creatures. They appreciate and understand the works of nature and work to maintain harmony as opposed to other races’ fight to gain control and domination.

· Elves are comparatively more nocturnal than other creatures, having perfect vision under starlight. They have special connections to the stars, the moon, and the sea. They also have the ability to predict weather patterns and this makes them dependable sailors.

· Elves are known for their persistence in gathering knowledge. It’s what they are best at. They do not act on a matter unless they are completely satisfied they know everything there is to know and therefore rarely act prematurely.

· Elves believe in the shared importance of all races regardless of their flaws. They are not snobs and are not racial elitists but do grieve over the destructive nature of the shorter-lived races, and they tend to have more accumulated knowledge and experience, which can make them seem aloof.

· Elves tend to be more licentious in mating and have less moral distress than other breeds where ephemeral relationships are concerned.

· Finding a soulmate for elves is not easy and can usually take a lifetime. However, once there is recognition between two elves, the bond created is said to be stronger than those of typical marriages. The breaking of this bond is most unlikely and almost unheard of.
